LIMA Farm is not only engaged in cassava farming but also plays a significant role in cassava seed multiplication. Recognizing the importance of high-quality planting material, we are dedicated to producing superior cassava stems to support local small-scale farmers. By multiplying and distributing these cassava seeds, LIMA Farm contributes to the expansion of cassava cultivation and ensures a sustainable supply of healthy and productive crops.
Furthermore, LIMA Farm has established a modern cassava processing plant within the community- close to the out-growers. This facility is equipped to produce High-Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF) of international standards. The HQCF will be made available to consumers both within the local market and on an international scale, catering to the growing demand for cassava-based products.
We are committed to minimizing waste and maximizing resource utilization. Cassava peelings, a byproduct of the processing plant, will be repurposed as valuable feed for chickens and other animals. This sustainable approach not only reduces waste but also contributes to the local livestock industry by providing a nutritious and cost-effective animal feed source.
Moreover, the farm is implementing an integrated farming system where the droppings and waste generated by the animals are being utilized as organic manure. By recycling and applying these natural fertilizers to the farm's soil, LIMA Farm ensures that soil health is maintained and productivity is optimized. This eco-friendly practice promotes sustainable agriculture and reduces the reliance on chemical fertilizers.
LIMA Farm’s holistic approach to cassava farming, seed multiplication, processing, and waste management reflects its commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and responsible agricultural practices. By integrating various aspects of the cassava value chain, LIMA Farm aims to contribute to economic growth, enhance food security, and foster a greener environment in the local community and beyond.
